Taking the Work to the Community

In the previous chapter, the classroom focus was on helping students see that there was a place where they could begin working toward a simultaneous focus on clinical work and social action. The violence in Frank's community was the issue chosen to do this. Frank had already begun this work on his own by talking to young people in the community about the toll that violence was taking on all of them.
