ABSTRACT

The instructor should begin with an introduction of himlherself and discuss why the group should be interested in learning something about group dynamics. If participants are planning to embark on a project which requires extensive group interaction then the instmctor should be sensitive to this and stmcture the session accordingly. For example, if participants' interaction is to include committee work or specific task-oriented endeavors then the instructor should attempt over the course of the session to provide tangible examples of situations and scenarios that might later confront the participants. processes is fundamental to the success of any group in any given situation. By introducing potential groups to positive and negative group roles and levels of group functioning, participants can learn how to be effective contributors to the group and provide for optimal group functioning.
