So far, I’ve focused on the tractability of problems. A negative answer to ‘Can the aim of the dispute be achieved?’ doubles as a negative answer to ‘Should the disputants try to achieve the aim?’ However, the normative question can also be addressed with an appeal to values rather than facts.
