ABSTRACT
For a student, a flexible learning environment can be challenging. Not only do students have expectations of their teachers, the teachers also have expectations of the students.
Students need to continually question themselves about why they are using particular learning resources and whether they understand the course content. On-campus classes and Internet-based discussion forums are important in promoting contact between teachers and students. Such communication is as important in flexible learning as it is in on-campus courses.
