Every now and then, my mentor stops me and asks, “Why are you still here?” Once I stop laughing at the question, I remember my story.

I became a consumer (or client) at the mental health center in 1987 following my first psychotic break. I am here today because I was given the opportunity to start my life over again. I am here now because I believe I found my work niche, my calling.
