ABSTRACT

When more than one person has ownership of a property, it is considered ownership in common with an undivided interest. Although each owner may own a specified. percentage of the whole, each owner's interest is an undivided interest in the entire property. The part owner may sell his or her undivided percentage of ownership to the other partners or to another person. However, he or she cannot sell a specific piece or section of the whole property because ownership lies in a percentage of the whole.
