ABSTRACT

I now realize the degree to which my relationship with Grace clarified the essence of my rabbinic presence. I am challenged to meet the patient where she lives, replete with her cognitive ruminations and innermost fears. My task is to offer a complete and affirming acceptance of the patient’s whole self. I approached Grace with recognition of who she is, rather than who she is not. In my acceptance of her reality, I like to believe that I allowed Grace to safely offer her whole self to God.
