ABSTRACT

This chapter addresses biopsychosocial and spiritual needs of older adults following a traumatic or disastrous event. It assumes that most older adults have established a pattern of positive adaptation over the life course as they encountered acute stress or chronic adversities. The importance of social supports and mutual aid is also described. doi: https://dx.doi.org/10.1300/J137v14n01_10" xmlns:xlink="https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">10.1300/J137v14n01_10 [Article copies available for a fee from The Haworth Document Delivery Service:1-800-HAWORTH.
