ABSTRACT

This is a book that does a notable job of integrating two widely disparate variables: alcoholism and group treatment. Dr. Flores has done a painstaking objective blending of the shared setting with probably the most endemic pathology of our time. To practitioners familiar with the group approach and the remarkable work of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), it is a puzzlement that group therapy is not the treatment of choice for all oral addictive pathology. Group therapy is now becoming recognized by more and more of the leading group theorists and practitioners as the treatment of choice for both addiction and its associated character pathology.
