ABSTRACT
A learning disability is not transient; it is likely to persist over a relatively long period. This temporal dimension offers the possibility of observing LD over its duration. Over time, LD is likely to change, and its basic properties may be clarified by examining these changes. If we know the usual properties of LD at particular points in time, we may enhance our ability to discern its nature.
