ABSTRACT
How do teachers respond to what can be a considerable range of ability in their class? This of course raises a set of issues that need to be tackled at school level: good communication between the special educational needs coordinator, the English co-ordinator, the class teachers and the parents is essential. There are many new requirements and the complexity of the challenge to help all children achieve as much as possible is increasingly recognised.
