ABSTRACT

Professors Zigmond and Cooper and Valli pose the following questions in their chapters in this volume: is the general education classroom an appropriate learning environment for the student with learning disabilities? How might a suitable classroom operate? Their commentary evokes a range of responses and provokes an even wider range of questions about the very nature of education for any student. I react pedagogically, politically, and emotionally to evidence they present, the issues that are raised run just that deep.
