ABSTRACT
The first section extends the description of the supralaryngeal speech organs, which were introduced in chapter 3. There are also some practice exercises that explore the phonetic function of each organ, through a scenario in which each in turn is disabled. The second section describes some techniques used for measurement and direct observation of supralaryngeal articulatory gestures. The last section addresses speech dynamics, in particular coarticulation.
