ABSTRACT
IN MANY RESPECTS, THE Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) faces unique challenges for a professional organization: from the diversity of professional practice that we attempt to include under the organizational umbrella to our repeated efforts to adopt a definition of our field which represents that breadth of philosophy, practice, and research. In many respects, our field is a moving target and most of us, practitioners and academics, embrace this environment of continuous change and challenge on some level.
