ABSTRACT

The year is 1982. The scene is the fabulous Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in downtown Los Angeles, and backstage everything is in readiness for this groundbreaking night of nights. What a triumph for Charles Pierce to tread the boards where so many greats had trod before him: Katharine Hepburn in Coco, Robert Preston in Mack and Mabel—not to mention that this theater had been the scene of many Academy Award shows!
