ABSTRACT
Muthoni Likimani was born and brought up at Kahuhia Mission, Murang’a District, Kenya. Her early life as the daughter of one of the first Kenyan Anglican church ministers, Rev. Levi GochanJa, was influential on her development as a writer, particularly in her first novel, They Shall Be Chastised.
