ABSTRACT

Although the overall plan of the gallery provides guidelines along which the exhibition can be organised, it is the information to be communicated and the needs of the visitor that are the main considerations in developing the exhibition in detail. The objectives and story-line provide some guidance in this, and it helps to use story-boards, rough models and so on to give a preliminary idea of what the exhibits will look like. This means that early decisions have to be taken about media and modes.
