ABSTRACT
A semantic network can be used to allow the learner and the author in an instructional software system much greater control and flexibility than is usual within the normal modes of Computer Assisted Instruction. In this chapter we illustrate how a semantic network can facilitate an active-learner pedagogy, and how a semantic network can be used to structure the curriculum in three areas: Psychology, Literature, and Computer Science/Business.
