ABSTRACT
Motivation is a frequently used word in the literature of computers and education. The literature is filled with testimonials from educators who portray the excitement they have felt in working with students on computers. Yet there are frequent criticisms of courseware, and the overall number of students who can or even want to use computers is still surprisingly small (Pulos, Fisher, & Spage, 1985).
