ABSTRACT
The best rule to follow in using any punctuation mark is not to use a mark unless you know the rule for doing so. This chapter summarizes the most important rules not covered in other chapters. For example, this chapter does not cover the use of a period in ending a sentence because Chapter 4 on correcting run-on sentences deals with that.
