ABSTRACT

The elementary school we studied in rural west central Florida prides itself in nurturing the confidence of students who intellectually challenge themselves. Traditionally a migrant family school, it has been subject to a high mobility rate. However, with the combined efforts of the school, government, and social organizations, in addition to employment stability, the mobility rate has decreased. Consequently, most students now remain for the entire year. The school implemented a mandatory uniform policy 3 years ago and continues to maintain an emphasis on technology infusion at the classroom level. Most of its classes have approximately 25 students, in keeping with the benefits received from Title I funding and other migrant funding sources.
