THE EARLY YEARS OF SCHOOLING

In Australia over the past decade the early years of schooling have been the focus for a plethora of national and state reviews, reports and task-force activity. Nationally, for example, the Schools Council of the National Board of Employment, Education and Training (NBEET) Compulsory Years of School project considered the early years of schooling and published five papers between 1991 and 1992.
