1 Creating web pages

Creating web pages is easier than it sounds and is increasingly becoming part of the ICT curriculum in schools, as well as being a fun activity for lunchtime or outof-hours clubs. Web pages are written in a language known as 'HTML' (hypertext mark up language), which is simply a series of commands telling the computer things such as where on the page to place a piece of text, the colours and sizes of fonts, and where to put links to other pages. These commands can be written in any writing program such as MS Word or Notepad. If you want to see what it looks like, open Internet Explorer then, for any web page, follow View>Source and the coding will appear in Notepad.
