Behaviour management Where pupils with learning difficulties have behaviour difficulties it will be necessary to resolve those difficulties in order to address learning difficulties. A programme of behaviour management should be implemented. These programmes may be based on different approaches, e.g. behavioural, cognitive-behavioural and person-centred counselling. However, behaviour difficulties may not be simply a function of child deficits (childdeficit model), but may in part result from negative interactions (interactionist model) between children and parents/carers, pupils and pupils, pupils and teachers and pupils and schools.
