ABSTRACT
The development of a series of telematic applications and derivative generic services is central to the realisation of TENs. Consequently telematics represents a key priority of the EU in the promotion of telecom-TENs. Within the EU’s market-led strategy, the development of network infrastructure is dependent upon a series of commercially and technologically feasible telematic applications and services. The prioritised telematic applications and services (see later) are intended to run initially over ISDN with an eventual migration to IBC envisaged over the medium to longer term.
