ABSTRACT

Teachers have reported that when they work in the way outlined in this book with all the pupils in their class then the pupils are more able to build positive relationships and quarrel less. The structures used to teach the skills are also of benefit for delivering the curriculum, especially where bodies of knowledge need to be taught. The benefit for teachers is that more and more of their time is spent teaching and far less in sorting out personal disputes between children. It is also reported that the noise level falls as both the children’s and the teacher’s emotional pitch drops.
