ABSTRACT

In practical terms, there may be overlap between long-term, medium-term and short-term plans. In many schools, the kind of planning we describe in this chapter is seen as part of long-term documentation – or, indeed, in other cases as an aspect of short-term development. This is entirely appropriate. As we indicated in Chapter 1, there is no set formula for the preparation of schemes of work and it is for individual schools to interpret the categories of planning we offer in the light of their own needs and priorities and to adapt the ideas we put forward for their own use.
