ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the descriptive statistics that are used in quantitative research. In L2 research, quantification is not only useful for describing the attributes of an individual learner, but also how the attributes of different groups of learners may differ. These differences can be handily summarized and highlighted using descriptive statistics.
