ABSTRACT
Today the prosperity of nations, their economy, national security, and social harmony are linked intimately with technological development. Technology has become a source of wealth in the same way as the possession of natural resources was in the past. A nation which manages to promote innovation, to produce new products and processes at an earlier date, can increase its productivity, lower its costs, conquer new markets and acquire a comparative advantage.
