ABSTRACT
The B≤ major triad can be said to tonicize the E≤ major triad that follows it because it causes it to sound-for a fleeting moment-like the tonic. In the symbol V/V, the roman numeral left of the slash shows the function of the chord being analyzed in relation to its chord of resolution, which is shown to the right of the slash.
