ABSTRACT

The authors began this chapter by referring to the important questions about engagement. It is simply about asking. Asking whether our colleagues, partners or stakeholders feel as people do about the importance and practicality of whatever it is were spending money and effort on. If objectives have been set for the desired level of active engagement, people can see that the conventional Happy Sheet is not going to be fit for purpose. Good engagement information, is a key performance indicator. If were honest with ourselves, high on the list of considerations when people decide how enthusiastic and committed they are to some project or course of action or learning is our own self-interest. Hospital X is one of the biggest private medical centres in the Middle East. Although it has a paediatric department, it does not have a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
