ABSTRACT

When it comes to abortion and the protection of life, religions have evolved beliefs, legislatures have passed laws, courts have articulated findings, and people have made choices. Politicians have taken positions, waged campaigns, and won and lost elections. Scholars have worried over the fine points of philosophical and legal arguments. Activists have produced statistics, argued for the rights of the disabled, underscored the importance of privacy and choice, organized right-to-life demonstrations, bombed clinics, and murdered abortion providers. Where should the protective boundaries of life be placed?
