ABSTRACT
Our analysis of projects devoted to the development of common history textbooks provides a set of suggestions for future projects. Nevertheless, it is important to note that every project must be tailored to the specific situation in the targeted region, the specificity of relations between the involved countries, and the social and cultural environment(s) in which projects will take place. Blindly copying previous projects without taking into consideration all political, social, and cultural factors can lead to the failure of the project or severely limit its social impact.
