ABSTRACT
Services form the mainstay of the global economy. They accounted for 65.5 per cent of world GDP and 44.1 per cent of world employment in 2011. The ratios were 51 per cent and 37.7 per cent for the developing countries. Moreover, in all regions except North Africa, the share of service employment has increased over the past decade (UNCTAD 2013).
