ABSTRACT

One aspect of the Cold War was the build-up throughout the world of Soviet and American spheres of influence. Local conflicts and confrontations were often thus exacerbated or sustained, as between East and West Europe, North and South Korea, India and Pakistan, and Israel and its Arab neighbours. This map shows respective arms supplies in the last five years of United States - Soviet confrontation
