ABSTRACT

The male and female reproductive systems are important for procreation; the creation of offspring. They may be used to allow expression of sexual desires and emotional intimacy; they may adversely be used to exert power and inflict violence Understanding the anatomy and physiology of these systems and the influence o hormones is vital for professionals working in sexual health areas to be able to differentiate between normal and abnormal. For example, understanding the difference between physiological discharge and pathological discharge is a useful tool when educating women on fertility awareness or when discussing vaginal infections such as bacterial vaginosis.
