ABSTRACT

However, ICG is not commonly used as a diagnostic method because it is not yet considered to be valid [Cotter (2006)]. One reason for this is the inaccuracy of the technology itself concerning the calculation of SV. Another reason is that processes in thehuman body during ICG measurements are largely unknown. However, one way to analyze where the electrical current paths run, and which tissue makes a significant contribution to the measurement result, is to use computer simulations employing the finite element method (FEM).
