ABSTRACT

In this final chapter we present a transversal analysis of the case studies reviewed in this volume, to illustrate how, although each represents a unique ‘story’, their specific trajectory can be explained using the theoretical concepts surveyed in Chapter 2 and the interpretive categories identified in Chapter 3. In those chapters we conceptualized urban and regional dynamics as a historical-geographical and multidimensional process, the analysis of which requires an interdisciplinary approach and articulated methods of empirical research.
