ABSTRACT

Knowledge-based societies require citizens to be skilled in the effective use of online information for inquiry and communication (OECD, 2010; Rouet et al., 2009). The ability to conduct online research, comprehend, and learn has become an important aspect of online information use (Goldman, Braasch, Wiley, Graesser, & Brodowinska, 2012). Research into the individual differences of online research and comprehension is important so that educational systems can better support the diversity that defines us, especially as the Internet is now central to both literacy and life.
