The Story of the Old Testament and the Old Testament as Story

This chapter introduces two stories for the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible: the first, the story that scholars tell about the Old Testament—how it came to be and so forth; and, second, the story that the Old Testament itself tells in terms of its content. Suggestions for further reading are also included.
