Section I Preserving place identity The case studies presented in this section share the question of preserving place identity. The Trevi-Pantheon route in Rome concerns mainly the problems related to anthropic risk, while the South Broadway area in Los Angeles features the loss of traditional functions – this was an historical theatre district – and the consequent abandonment in favour of a not well specified re-use.
