ABSTRACT

Americans are known to be one of the most mobile peoples in the world. Their migration patterns have been always changing: these changes are reflected not only in interregional migration, as Americans were seen moving around the country throughout history, but also in intra-urbanmigration, as theymove from the center of the city to the suburban areas in recent decades (Frey 2009). These changing patterns not only created the unique landscape and culture of the United States, but also created many issues that await research in regional science and urban economics.
