ABSTRACT
In upstream Nile, the defence of riparian rights has progressively depended, both in national strategies and basin wide cooperative initiatives, on the principle of equitable and reasonable uses. The right-claims have also been attended by limited resource development manoeuvres endangering, in some measures, traditional assumptions of downstream entitlements.
