Care Circulation, Absence and Affect in Transnational Families

The aim of this chapter is twofold: to describe the dynamics of care circulation (Chapter 1, this volume) through the family cycle in two groups of Latin American immigrants interviewed in Madrid (Dominicans) and New York (Mexicans), ¹ and assess the way in which various structural factors in the societies of origin and destination (migratory policies and family structure) condition the potential for care circulation in the transnational space.
