ABSTRACT

In a rapidly changing context, organizational agility is sustained by HR strategies, policies and programmes, adapted to provide an environment where employees feel a strong sense of attachment, and are motivated to give their best performance. As in the case of ‘talent management’, where we discussed in Chapter 13 how the phrase ‘talent management’ covers a whole bundle of policies, so the ideas behind ‘total reward’ cover all those areas in HR policies and practices that seek to reward, to motivate and to retain employees. This is intended to produce a strong culture at the centre of organizational identity, enabling constant adaptation by employees to market needs.
