ABSTRACT

Although, strictly speaking, the Provision Map is nothing more than a management tool, in the format detailed here it will be evaluative and can link several school processes together. It may be used to aid planning and target-setting, and can also help staff to monitor the amount of time pupils spend away from the classroom on intervention programmes. Collated and evaluated Provision Maps can provide evidence on the impact of interventions for the school’s self-evaluation and can be shared with parents so that they better understand the provision being made for their child and the ways they can help at home.
