ABSTRACT
This book has examined changing state-society relations in China through a state corporatist framework. As demonstrated throughout the chapters, there is continuing utility in using this framework to describe the case of China so long as its shortcomings are simultaneously acknowledged. In this final chapter, we will contextualize the Chinese case within a comparative perspective, with the overall aim of comprehending the future of state corporatism as a theoretical construct and framework for analyzing state-society relations.
