ABSTRACT
Throughout the United States and to a lesser extent in Canada, a new type of post-secondary school is serving an impressive number of youth and adults. Known as the junior college, the community college, or the two-year college, this twentieth century institution is attempting to meet the particular educational needs'of a changing western culture.
