ABSTRACT
The Tata Iron and Steel Company Limited, Jamshedpur (India), was established sixty years ago and produced its first cast of pig iron and its first steel ingot in 1911–12. Planned as a fully integrated steel plant, its initial capacity has now grown to its present capacity of two million tons of ingot steel a year.
