Bronio left Natters on 12 January, the children remaining another week and returning on their own. The Malinowskis had come to no decision as to when or where the household would re-unite in England. Bronio was facing two hurdles: in February three lectures at the University of Durham, and an extended moneymaking lecture tour in the USA beginning in March.
